TCC Pageant Awards $1000 Scholarship, Fun Day For All Participants

PASADENA, Texas – Kelli Hyma was named Miss TCC at the first Texas Chiropractic College Pageant held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Elliott Auditorium on the TCC campus. As the winner of the title “Miss TCC,” Hyma is the recipient of a $1000 scholarship to any accredited college or university.

There were a total of eight competition categories by age for the ladies, plus an additional category for two precocious young gentlemen. The pageant Queens for each category are as follows:
Baby Miss: Payton Shugart
Miniature Miss (2-3 Years): Carley Maher
Little Miss (4-6 Years): Emily Rahe
Petite Miss (7-8 Years): Kayla Black
Young Miss (9-10 Years): Brooke Hogan
Teen Miss (14-17 Years): Morgan Odom
Miss TCC (18-25 Years): Kelli Hyma
Ms TCC (25 Years & Older): Annette Black
Rayne Randolph (age 5) was named the TCC King and Logan McClellan (age 2) was dubbed the Prince. There were a total of 39 contestants with 29 coming from the community at large.
“I’d like to thank all of the participants and volunteers for making this, our first annual TCC Pageant, such a fun day,” said TCC’s Director of Development Debbie Salisbury. “I was very happy to see so many of our contestants come from outside of the immediate TCC community, and I hope they now consider themselves part of the TCC family.”
Serving as judges for the pageant were Tammie Nielson, Lucy Turoff and James Guthrie. Thanks go out to D’Juana Oxford for helping to coordinate the event and to TCC’s Harold DeLancy for his work managing the lights and sound during the pageant.
A special thanks is given to Mr. Mel Cowart, a long-time supporter of TCC, who graciously donated the $1000 scholarship.
