Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for enrollment of all
student and maintenance of all academic records. Among the functions
of the Registrar's Office that students regularly utilize are:
- Academic Calendar
- Course Enrollment
Enrollment for continuing students normally occurs in the 11th week of
the trimester. Students will be eligible to register as long as they
are not on registration hold from the business office, admissions
office, library or other administrative entities.
- Advice on Course Scheduling
The Registrar is available for advisement on course scheduling. This
service is most important for transfer or mixed schedule students.
Schedule advisement is done on an appointment basis. Appointments may
be made either by phone or in person with the registrar staff.
- Course Add/Drop Procedures
Dropping and adding courses is allowed during the first 10 school days
of a trimester without academic penalty. In order to add a course, the
student must fulfill all the prerequisite and corequisite requirements
of the course to be added. Additionally, an added course cannot
overlap with any other enrolled courses. Drop/Add forms are available
in the Registrar's office.
- Withdrawal from Individual Courses
Withdrawal from one or more individual courses is allowed through the
eighth week of a trimester with a grade of "W". Withdrawal after that
will result in a grade of "WF". The student must notify
the Registrar's office in writing. Failure to do so will render the
action unofficial and a failing a grade will be recorded in each such
course.
- Complete Withdrawal from the College
A student may withdraw from school up until 10 days before the end of
the term from which the student wishes to withdraw. The withdrawal
form must be completed and submitted to the Registrar's office. There
is no fee for a complete withdrawal. However, all debts to the College
must be paid before the procedure is considered completed. Correct
preparation and timely submission of the withdrawal application will
result in a "W" being assigned to all courses in which the student was
enrolled. Failure to follow established withdrawal procedures would
result in the assignment of an "F" to all courses in which the student
was enrolled.
- Readmission to the College
Students desiring readmission must apply according to policies at the
time of reentry. A student who has withdrawn is not guaranteed
permission to re-enroll. Students wishing to reenter must notify the
Registrar's office in writing or their intentions at least 30 days
before the anticipated date of re-entry into the College.
- Advanced Standing
- Release of Student Records , including transcript and diploma copy requests
- Enrollment Verification
Students, on occasion, require verification of enrollment at TCC. The
College will provide, at no fee to the student, a letter stating that
the student is enrolled for a trimester, the beginning and ending dates
of said trimester and the anticipated date of graduation. The
Registrar's office will mail the verification to the necessary party or
the student can pick up the letter for hand delivery.
- Loan Deferment Verification
Students will receive documents, normally on a trimester basis, from
their lending institution for loan deferment information. The student
must complete the upper portion of the form, sign the form and deliver
to the Registrar's office. The Registrar's office will complete and
mail the form to the lending institution at no cost to the student.
